I studied Guo Hua (Traditional Chinese Painting) for 1 year in Beijing after graduating from art school. It was a whole new experience, from the materials to the techniques and the emotional process. I had to practice a lot – both language and painting skills – to understand what the professors were even saying. I created many works, but also gifted many away to friends and family; I also lost a few while moving homes. After more than a decade I now look at them again to share them with you. I tell myself I have to keep my passion to keep creating. Art helps us keep a peaceful mind and beautiful perspective in this world we share.
